The Color Pop Scrunchy Crochet pattern is HERE! I am so excited to be releasing this pattern into the world! I’ve made countless scrunchies so far and still really enjoy making them. When I realized that I knew I had to share it with you all. It’s simple, fun and the best part, your finish scrunchies make great market items and great gifts!
• 5MM- 6MM Crochet Hook
• Yarn | 30 yards –
“Caron Brand Simply Soft”
“I love this Cotton”
Or similar weight 3 (DK) Yarn
• Yarn Needle
• Hair Tie – Ouch less hair ties work best
SKILL LEVEL: Beginner
CH – Chain
SC – Single Crochet
YO – Yarn Over
MINI PS – Mini Puff Stitch
PS – Puff Stitch
SLST – Slip Stitch
SPECIAL STITCHES &NOTES:
Mini Puff Stitch:
*YO, insert hook in same stitch, pull up a loop (3 loops on hook)’ Repeat from * until there 9 loops on the hook, YO, pull through all loops, CH 1 to finish the Mini Puff.
YO, insert hook in specified stitch, pull up a loop (3 loops on hook.) *YO, insert hook in same stitch, pull up a loop. Repeat from * until there 11 loops on your hook, YO, pull through all loops. CH 1 to finish the
CH1 should not be counted in stitch count.
Stitch count may vary depending on size of hair tie.
Use even number of stitches to cover your hair tie.
Round 1: Make a slip knot. Insert your hook through the hair tie first and into the slip knot. Slip stitch around the hair to anchor it, then SC around the hair tie always inserting your hook into the hair tie and then pulling up a loop through the hair tie. Repeat until you have 40 SC.
Note: You will need to slide your SC’s closer and tighter together as you go to fit 40 SC around the hair tie.
SLST into first SC to join.
Round 2: Chain 1. Mini PS into each SC around. SLST into top of 1st Mini PS. (40)
Round 3: Chain 1. PS in space between each Mini PS in round 2. SLST to top of first PS.
Tie off and leave a 3-4” tail. Sew in ends through the PS and Mini PS to meet the beginning tail. Knot both ends in a knot.
Weave in ends.
